Since then there are 9 areas controlled by each Great Houses but still under the control of "The Iron Throne" by the House Targaryen family, then there is Robert's Rebellion "The Iron Throne" switched to the House Baratheon family which is currently held by King Robert Baratheon and then continued by King Joffrey Baratheon.
