Get to Know About OneDrive on Windows 10
OneDrive is Microsoft's online storage space that we can use
to store, edit, and share documents and other files that are not much different
from online data storage, for example DropBox.
We can access OneDrive from a computer, smartphone, or one
of the devices that you use.
To start OneDrive, all you need to do is create a free
Microsoft account, if you don't have one already.
Benefits of
using OneDrive
After logging in to your Microsoft account, here are some things
you can do with OneDrive:
Access your files
anywhere:
When you save a file to OneDrive, you can access it from any
computer, tablet or smartphone that has an internet connection. You can also
create new documents from OneDrive.
Back up your files:
Saving files to OneDrive provides an additional layer of
protection. Even if something happens to your computer, OneDrive will store
your files safely and can be accessed anytime.
File sharing:
It's easy to share your OneDrive files with friends and
coworkers. You can choose whether they can edit or only read files. This option
is great for collaboration because several people can edit documents at the
same time (this is also known as co-authoring).
Save and open files
When you log in to a Microsoft account, OneDrive will appear
as an option every time you save or open a file. You still have the option to
save the file to your computer. However, saving files on OneDrive allows you to
access them from another computer, and also allows you to share files with friends
and coworkers.
For example, when you click Save As, you can choose OneDrive
or This PC as the storage location.

Additional
Special Features on OneDrive
Searching
Finding the files needed one by one is not an easy matter,
because we can be overwhelmed with the many other files. For this reason,
OneDrive embeds search features on their services, with this search feature
allows you to find various files in search quickly. Only by typing the file name
will you immediately find it.
Latest
Files
If there is a file that you just uploaded and you don't know
where to look, then you have to rely on this one feature, the Latest feature on
OneDrive allows you to find every newly uploaded file.
Garbage
collection
Garbage collection is like a Recycle Bin on Windows operating
systems. Sometimes we accidentally delete important data that should be safe in
our storage space. This is a common thing and has become commonplace.
